They made it!

For the first time, we told the kids they could try to stay up until midnight with us last night to ring in the New Year. They never really knew it was an option before, and we had to explain the excitement of staying up... and they were totally on board! We had some friends over earlier in the evening, and the kids played pretty hard. I didn't think there was a chance that they'd make it until midnight - but they surprised us and stayed awake the whole time! It was really special to share that moment with them. They were so proud of themselves, and even thought they were sound asleep in bed by ten past twelve, they earned some bragging rights for making it all the way!
