First Week of Summer Vacation: Success!

We really made the most of our time during Adam's vacation, and we've had a wonderful time! We started off with the camping trip I already wrote about. Then on Monday, we took a trip to the Clam Bake restaurant for some Maine seafood and then made a stop at Old Orchard Beach to let the kids jump in the waves. Tuesday we had some friends and their kiddos over for lunch and then took a family trip to the Drive-In to see Cars 2. Wednesday we relaxed around the house, and then Thursday we headed up to Story Land. We got a hotel room for Thursday night, so we spent Thursday afternoon at Story Land, then had dinner and spent the evening in the hotel pools, then went back for a full day for Story Land on Friday. We all had so much fun. The kids both just really love it there and because we've been going since they were tiny, they've both got this magical, nostalgic connection to it. Taking them there is always one of my favorite things we do each year.

Then yesterday we went to Grandpa Ben's and Gigi's to camp out in the yard with Jessica, Attila and Rigel. The kids had a great time driving around the yard on their kiddie tractors and playing with water guns. It was some nice family time, and a great way to end our week. It was sad to see Adam go back to work today, but knowing the kids are out of school for the next two months makes it easier because I know we'll get a lot more time with him than usual. We're going to make the rest of the summer great, too!
