Another ear infection for Ben

Apparently this poor boy has inherited his mother's tendency for ear infections. He's had a cold for a little while now, and with his runny nose I worried he'd be in for more ear troubles. He blows his nose all the time, and we've had him propped up with pillows at night practically sleeping sitting up - but as the doctor told me today, there isn't really anything else we can do. Those things will help, but beyond that, he's obviously just prone to them and there isn't much more we can do to prevent it.

He started complaining yesterday about having stuffy ears, and I was pretty sure he was in for it. Sure enough, this morning he said they were starting to hurt. He's been very lucky that he's never had too much pain - I can remember it being excruciating. He also recognizes it very early on - like when he warned me about his ears starting to get stuffy - so we can get him into the doctor before it gets too bad. This time, it was actually only one ear that was infected, but the other had a lot of pressure and probably would have turned eventually, so it was good we got him in when we did.

He's only asked for Tylenol once and ran a low-grade fever for just one evening, so I think once these antibiotics kick in, he'll be feeling back to normal soon enough. Poor little guy.
