Sophie's Valentines

Here are the valentine cards that Sophia made for her classmates. She worked SO hard on them. I was proud that she insisted on doing handmade cards rather than buying a package at the store, but I also knew that making 18 cards from scratch was going to be a big undertaking, so we started a couple of weeks ago. She worked longer and harder than I'd expected, though, and finished them up yesterday afternoon. Which is actually perfect timing, probably, since she still wants to make a bunch of cards for family, too.

I traced a heart shape onto the red cardstock for her, and she cut out the hearts - then she used pieces of valentine paper and valentine stickers to decorate the cards. On the back, we used little blank white labels for her to write the "to" and "from" names on. I was so impressed watching her work. She put so much detail into each card - each one is different and she talked about each classmate specifically as she was making them, putting a lot of thought into her creations. I've looked through the pile several times to admire them since she finished - I'm so proud of all her hard work!
