Bronchitis

Poor Sophia has come down with bronchitis. She's had a lingering cough, which she's prone to getting anyhow - (she has some kind of allergy issues at the change of seasons, and she's always susceptible to developing a cough with any cold she gets) but this seemed to hang on a little longer. I got a call from the mom of one of her best friends, letting us know her daughter couldn't make it to Sophie's party tomorrow because of a whole slew of illnesses, including step throat, walking pneumonia, and bronchitis. Hearing that news, knowing the girls had been together at school all week, sealed the deal for me to get Sophie into the doctor's office. I brought her in this morning, and sure enough she was diagnosed with bronchitis. She needs antibiotics, but she isn't feeling badly and should be all healed in no time. With Sophie's history, the doctor was sure to check her closely, and I was relieved to hear there was no pneumonia to worry about. Bronchitis isn't fun, but that news I could handle. I guess I'll always be a little paranoid about her, but that's to be expected, I suppose. I'm glad she's got the medicine she needs and hope it will finally clear up this cough she's had.
