It was Sophie's turn for a Christmas show tonight. Every year, all of the kindergarten classes at her school put on performance called "Angel Band." They all wear big white t-shirts like dresses, big angel wings, and halos, and all one hundred or so students stand on risers in the gym and sing holiday songs.
Sophie has been looking forward to this performance for months. They have been practicing and practicing at school, and she's been telling me all about it. She knows every word to every song and all of the sign-language that goes along with them.
Sophie was the very first kindergartner to walk into the gym, leading the whole crowd of them to the risers. It was so cute to see her standing there in the doorway waiting for the principal to finish his introduction. I had the best time watching her sing, too, because she was so excited. She sang very deliberately and I could pick her voice out the whole time because she was singing so loudly. She really had a ball.
What a wonderful week we've had - watching both of our amazing kids in their special holiday shows. We're a very lucky family.
