Christmas vacation is here!

Ben's last day of school was last Thursday, but Sophie had to go until Monday. So today was our first official day of vacation... and school doesn't start back up again until January 3rd!

We're all anxious for Christmas, of course, but also really looking forward to all of the family time together over the next two weeks. Adam will be on vacation all of next week with us, so I see a lot of days spent in our jammies playing with new toys and cuddling with new movies in our future. It should be a ton of fun.

Today, though, we ended up having a houseful of little friends over. With the extra few days off before the holiday, several of our friends had a hard-time finding childcare, so I offered to watch a few extra kiddos for the day. We had Sophie's friends Allie and Madeline, and Madeline's little sister Savannah, and our neighbor from next door, Rachel. It was a full house, but kids had a blast. They played, we made Christmas cookies and decorated them, and they mainly ran wild like kids should on their first day of vacation. I'm happy that we could help out with the childcare shortage, but also glad to be able to give Sophie and Ben such a fun memory.
