Sophie did wonderfully during her recital this afternoon. She really knew the routine and she looked like she was having a great time. Her class didn't dance until the second act, so Sophie was able to sit in the audience with us for the first half of the recital. She enjoyed watching the other dances. During the intermission, I brought her backstage and helped her change into her costume. She stayed with her class in the waiting area until their number, and then they stayed back there again until the finale dance. The finale was very cute, with every single dancer on stage at once, and Sophie looked pretty thrilled to be up there with all of the older students. We were so proud of her.
After the show, we said goodbye to Nana and Brianna (who had come to watch with us) and Adam and I took Sophie out for a special dinner. She chose Bugaboo Creek, and we all had a fun time there together. She loved all of the attention she got in her cute costume.
She's already looking forward to her summer dance class, and after all of the work that goes into getting ready for the recital, I think she's ready for the more relaxed style of the summer session.
