The ceremony itself was awfully cute, with lots of little songs performed by the preschoolers. They also did Father's Day presentations for each dad, like they did for Mother's Day. When awarding the diplomas, Ms. Laurie called up each student individually and spoke about them. She said that Sophie was a bright little girl and that her bravery was inspiring.
After the ceremony was over, there were refreshments and then we headed back to the house for a little party. Sophie deserved something special after all she went through this spring. She has been so looking forward to graduation (especially as it came at the end of such a busy, exciting weekend with the recital, too) and having so many people she loves come and celebrate with her. We had Grammy, Tara, Brianna, Great Grammy, Cathy, Grandpa Ben, and of course Adam, Ben, and me at the graduation and back at the house. And once we got home, our neighbors and their daughters stopped in to join in the party for a little bit. Sophie was so thrilled. She got lots of wonderful gifts, and so much attention.
It was a really terrific weekend for her. We are all so immeasurably proud of this little girl.
