We're back from Disney!
Wow. What a whirlwind trip. Because it was linked to Adam's business trip, we had a pretty specific schedule and a limited time for the trip, but it was so worth it. I'm so glad we decided to go for it.
We traveled down on Saturday, taking a flight from Boston to Orlando. We got in super late, so it was straight to bed. Sunday was spent at the Magic Kingdom, and we had an amazing time. We went back the next day until mid-afternoon, and then Adam had to come back to the hotel and get ready for a cocktail reception for work. The kids and I headed back to the Magic Kingdom for the evening, and Adam managed to get back and meet us there for the very end of the night. Tuesday was Adam's conference so he was working all day. The kids and I started the day at our hotel pool, then headed to Downtown Disney for some time exploring the huge Lego store and then lunch at the T-Rex dinosaur restaurant. Adam's work was hosting a special desert in a reserved area of Epcot during the fireworks show, so he was able to get us evening passes into that park. We did a few rides, then met up with Adam after dark to all watch the fireworks together. Wednesday had us up before dawn and headed back to the airport.
We enjoyed every single minute we were there. We had some wonderful meals, including a character breakfast with Lilo and Stitch that the kids loved. We went on a ton of rides (Splash Mountain was everyone's favorite), saw some amazing shows, and really reveled in the magic of it all. It truly is a place like no other.
I can't wait to take the kids back again. In another couple of years, we'll plan a longer trip so that we can see all the parks and take more time exploring. There is just nothing that can prepare you for just how huge and detailed the whole place is. It's really amazing. I'm glad we took them at the ages they are now - the magic was just mind-blowing for them. But I really look forward to them being a little bit older next time, too.
It was a great vacation for our family. It's a time we will certainly all remember forever.
