5 Year Check-Up

Benjamin had his annual appointment at his pediatrician's office this afternoon. This year was a particularly big deal, since this is his getting-ready-for-kindergarten appointment. He did his eye test, was measured and weighed,and did all of the basic check-up stuff, as well as getting a finger-prick test for iron and four shots. He was very brave and also very curious. He wanted to check out the needles before the shots and see what the medicine looked like inside the syringes. He sat nice and still, but he immediately leaned in to kiss me when it was over and told me that it hurt. Poor little guy.

As for the stats, he is currently 44 inches tall and about 48 pounds, fully clothed. That puts him in the approximately the 70th percentile for height and 85th percentile for weight. Dr. Brooks was very pleased with everything and Ben's a perfectly healthy little boy.
