...we brought my beautiful little girl home from her 11 day stay at the hospital. It is crazy to think that it has been a year since she went through that terrible ordeal. For me it feels like it just happened. I still get a pain in my heart every time I see her scars from the surgery. Ben, on the other hand, can barely remember that Sophie was so very sick. He remembers a few things from the hospital and his many sleepovers while we stayed with Sophie. She still remembers it, but does not seem to remember how big an event it was.
Tonight Sophie and I are going to a daughter dance at her school. We are both really looking forward to it. I can't think of a better way to celebrate a year of having her home safe and healthy.
