Birthday Planning

I can't believe it's time to start thinking about Sophie's birthday already. I mean, didn't she just turn five?? This year, Sophie picked a beach theme for her party, which I think is going to be such fun. It's hard having a birthday in the winter when you can never have an outdoor party - so this will be a great way to forget about the cold for a little bit and pretend it's summer! We're going to turn the heat way up and suggested that the guests can all come in summer attire. Sophie has her heart set on wearing a bathing suit, but we'll probably start out with a little summer dress over the top. We'll lay beach towels on the floor of the playroom and get a few inflatable beach balls to toss around. We'll pass out leis and sunglasses, and just let them kick back in the "sun" for a couple of hours. Sophie's pretty excited about it, and I think the kids will all get a kick out of how silly it is!
