Last day of soccer

Sophie finished up her soccer season today with a morning full of games. It was really cold for the first game, so we went home during a break before the next one and layered on some more clothes and made some hot chocolate to bring with us. After that, it wasn't so bad.

Sophie played really well and scored a few goals. She really loves the sport and it has been so great watching her this year. After the games, her coach handed out some small Halloween treats and a trophy to each player. Sophie is SO proud of that trophy. It has her team name (the Hollis Green Monsters), the year, and her name engraved on it, which is pretty special.

Ben's coach came over and gave him a certificate for his participation, too. I thought that was pretty thoughtful, since Ben decided not to continue on. He is saying now that he would like to try it again next year - we'll see how he feels when the time comes.

With the colder weather really setting in, I think Sophie is ready for the season to be over for now - but she's already looking forward to next year!
