New soccer season begins

Sophie and Ben both started soccer today. This is Sophie's third year and Ben's first. Ben is participating in the peewee clinic that Sophie has done for the past two years - basically it's an hour each Saturday where they learn and practice basic soccer skills. They might play a few little scrimmages, but they only have one "game" on the very last day they meet. It's a pretty cute program, and Ben is already having fun.

Here he is practicing dribbling around some cones...

Sophie is now on a real kindergarten team, where she will have an evening practice once a week and meet for games each Saturday. They play three on three at the kindergarten level, and they will even travel to play against teams from surrounding towns. She got right in there during this first practice and did really well. One of the biggest excitements for her was that now that she's on a team that plays real games, she is big enough to need a mouth guard... haha, it's so funny the things that are a big deal at that age!

Here she is showing off her mouth guard smile...
