Sophie had her last day of preschool today. Ms. Laurie had planned a fun day for them to celebrate the end of the school year. They started out with a bit of last-minute rehearsal for graduation, but they spend the rest of the time outdoors. She had water balloons, a bounce house, a car wash, a lemonade stand, and popsicles. Sophie was so excited to go to school in her bathing suit and was really looking forward to the fun day with her friends.
When we were there dropping her off, Ms. Laurie invited Ben to stay, too. It was kind of like a step-up day for him, and he was beyond excited! He loved being a part of things with the big kids, and we were told he did a great job while he was there. He got a little frustrated at first, having to wait while the kids practiced their graduation stuff, but he ended up being a nice audience member for them and then was fine once they got outdoors and started playing. When Adam and I got back for pick-up, he was shirtless and soaked, jumping and slipping around in the bounce house. Then he got out and played with some other boys for a bit. I don't even think he noticed we were there until Sophie told him.
Sophie had a blast as well. I honestly don't think it has really hit her that she won't be going back there anymore, but then again she also knows that Ben will be going next year and she will still get to visit. She is incredibly excited for her graduation on Sunday - we all are!
