Dear Sophia,

I can't believe that this is the sixth year I'm sitting down to write one of these letters to you on the night before your birthday. I can remember so clearly writing the very first one before you were born. Its amazing to me that time has passed so quickly and we now have a smart, spirited nearly-five-year-old living in our house and fitting so perfectly into our lives. 

You are as strong-willed as ever, but still incredibly sweet. The occasions when you have talked back to us or shown a poor attitude have been overshadowed time and time again by the loving notes you constantly write, the extra snuggles at bedtime, the care you show for your brother, the silly jokes you tell, and the excitement that shines from you whenever you are having fun. 

You bring such incredible joy into our lives every single day.
